Lately I’ve been working a lot of hours…now I mean a LOT of hours!
Im not after anybody’s sympathy though and nor do I deserve any. I guess it’s just like my National Sales Manager, Whitney says, whenever she hears me whinge about working long hours…
“Ah well Bill, that’s CEO life!“
It’s true. It is CEO life and it does require me to work long hours, but you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love what I do!
Yesterday though, I just had one of those days. You know those days where you feel like a build up of late nights, long hours, a lot of pressure etc. just hits you square in the face and knocks you out for the count!?
That was yesterday for me.
By the time 3pm hit, I was literally struggling to keep my eyes open at my desk.
I powered on through and still got heaps done and then finally stumbled through the door at 7:30pm.
‘Alright’ I thought. I’m home early tonight, so I’m going early to bed and get a good night’s sleep.
I couldn’t believe it. I was in bed by 8:30pm, which for me is crazy early. I put the AC on high because I always sleep better in the cold and I was ready for the best night’s sleep every!
After all, I’d been waiting since about lunchtime for this moment.
But then I soon realised that my brain wasn’t exactly thinking along the same lines as my body.
My brain decided that this was the perfect time to wake up, have a thousand ideas, trigger some adrenalin to be released and start to get excited about some of the things I’ve got in the pipeline.
My brain was not co-operating and wouldn’t you know it, I roll over to check the time and it’s now 12:30am! Ugh!!
This is the love/hate relationship I have with brain, because I love it for it’s ideas and creativity and problem solving, but often times it keeps me awake at the times when I need it to rest.
I’ve tried meditation, breathing exercises, early dinners…you name it, but my brain just prefers to perk up at night.
I guess that’s just the way I am and I hear a lot of entrepreneurs who are the same. They do their best work at night.
Despite my frustrations, I wouldn’t change it because some of the ideas I’ve had at night, have turned into million dollar strategies and so I always remember to be grateful, even in times of frustration when Im super tired!
Despite my lack of sleep last night, I’m really excited today though because it’s new website day today and this morning I’m heading up to our web developers office to get a handover on the new site.
I can’t wait for this bad boy to go live as it’s got so many cool features that our old website just doesn’t deliver.
It’s also Black Friday today in the US, so in the spirit of today, I’ve also massively reduced both my Online Facebook Messenger Course and my 3 Hour Online Workshop on Salon Memberships.
Both of these have been massively reduced between now and Monday to only $47, so if you’re the sort of business owner who is looking for real success in 2018, do yourself a favour and take action right now to get one, or both of these.
Click on either one of the courses below to get instant access!
Have an awesome Friday and I hope you get some good sleep on the weekend!
